At St Lucia, we say these words together every time we take communion:
Here is our story, Here is our hope:
Although we turned from God he did not turn from us.
Although we rejected his love, he set the table and invited us home.
He entered into human life to live like us, to take on our sorrows.
He died so that by his victory over death we would have abundant life.
That he might live in us and we might live in him.
May we be one with him, may we be one with each other.
Remember with me our story and our hope:
Christ has died, Christ has risen, Christ will come again.
To live out this hope we choose a way of life together that gives and welcomes, mends and sings.
This way of life helps us believe. And it makes us a little more like Jesus every day.
